Hi, I’m Tori
Hello, my name is Tori! One half of the Mother / Daughter team behind BearSlice. I am a sophomore at Oviedo High School. I moved from Germany when I was eight. As a kid, I remember we would buy fresh bread and buns every morning. Bread baked to a crisp golden brown layed behind glass displays. People bustled, eager to get their hands on the last loaf. My mouth waters, even thinking about it now. I have craved the childhood memory to be reality again ever since.
I’ve always been into baking. Sometimes it was a batch of a dozen cookies, and on occasion, I’d whip up a birthday cake. So, with some extra time over the summer, I decided to step up my game. I’d heard about the health benefits of sourdough bread and thought, why not give it a shot? I was confident I could figure out the secret. Thus, I spent my time perfecting bread that’s even better than what I remember, with that soft, fluffy center and a perfectly toasted crust.
After my family was sufficiently stuffed with all the bread I was making, I realized I wanted to share this with more people. That’s when I decided to start a micro sourdough bakery. With my mom’s knack for photography and my dad’s graphic design skills, we built up a brand and made our presence known on social media. Honestly, without their help, Bearslice wouldn’t even exist.
Anything can be sourdough! I love experimenting and pushing the boundaries, so expect new items on the menu! I hope your house smells as heavenly as mine every morning, and look forward meeting as many of you as I can!
